Writing is damn hard. And getting into the writing industry is even harder. I’m no expert, by any means, but I figure if it’s hard enough to get into on your own, sharing resources and creating discussion can’t make it any worse.

If I find any competitions, jobs, articles, submission openings, prompts, exercises, advice, wild rumours or ghosts-of-writers-past I’ll be sure to let you know about it.

I come across all this info on my own and find all the details on the web (what I see is what I write, and the links to the source websites are provided in the posts). All the competitions I post about have little to no entry fee, and as writers, I think that’s the way (a-ha a-ha) we like it.

As for me, my name is Kyra Bandte and I’m a writer and reader from NSW, Australia. I work full-time as a content writer in Sydney and graduated from the University of Wollongong with a BA/BCA with Distinction, majoring in English Literature and Creative Writing.

I mostly write prose and poetry, but have dabbled in journalism, copywriting, ghostwriting, and web content. I’ll do pretty much anything I can get my typey little fingers on.
