We all know the golden rule: ‘Show, Don’t Tell’. But sometimes it’s difficult to come up with ways to effectively show raw emotions.
I came across this Cheat Sheet, just an image, that details the subtle body language that shows the emotions we don’t explicitly tell.
It’s a pretty good list, and although some of the ideas are a little cliche (clenching teeth, balling fists) there are some that are very interesting (I particularly like the smaller things such as ‘folding the hands together’ and ‘thumbs sticking out in pockets’).
These are definitely things I’ll keep in mind while I’m writing in the future.
