Passionate about human rights issues? This writing competition is held by Right Now, an organisation dedicated to exposing the right and the wrong through print, online media, and radio. They’re looking for poetry and prose that tackles issues that are important to all Australians
whether those rights pertain to children, women, Indigenous people, asylum seekers, prisoners, the LGBT community, and so on.
This is a great opportunity to express your societal opinions and values through story; to write something that yells, that hits you hard and empties your lungs onto the page.
Poems should be 50 lines max, and stories have a limit of 3000 words with up to three submissions sent via email. For more submission guidelines check out the Right Now website.
The winning poem and story each get $500 and print publication.
For this chance to tell some truths loud and clear, be sure to get your entries in by Jan 31 2014.
