Australian Love Stories 2014

Light some candles, scatter some rose petals, open a new Word document, fall in love. Sounds like you? Then this literary anthology is calling your name.

Australian Love Stories 2014 is part two of a publication trilogy compiling fiction and non-fiction from Australian writers. Single submissions only, up to 3600 words. For formatting and submission guidelines follow this link right here.

Did I mention that one of the judges is Cate Kennedy? Yep. And did I mention that accepted stories pay $100? There’s so much to love about this literary publication!

Inkerman & Blunt are on the look out for

stories that explore all aspects of ‘amatory love’: the dark and the light of it; the holy mess of it; the beginning and the end; the ferocity and tenderness; the way it unmakes us, as we make it; the emptiness it leaves when it leaves

Whoa. Just when you thought that love was an ‘overused’ theme, you’re reminded how it got that way. There’s so much you could write, and so many experiences to explore.

Submissions close 28th February 2014, so you’ve got plenty of time to go through the whole ‘honeymoon period’ with a new lovey-dovey story, then kick it to the curb and cry during the editing process. Then put it all in an envelope and pop it in the post.
