Cordite Poetry Review: Silence

Cordite is an online literary journal that highlights new poetry from established and emerging writers and they’re currently looking for submissions for their next issue: Silence.

Poets can submit up to 3 poems via an online submission form and should make sure they’re in before December 14 2013.

Payments are only available to Australian residents and citizens, but Cordite do accept and publish poems from international writers. For the full list of submission guidelines check out this page.

The theme itself can be a good challenge for some writers, as guest editor Jan Owen suggests, “It might seem quietly paradoxical to even think of writing about absence of sound and language”.

The whole idea of silence puts communication (and writing itself) into question, so there’s no doubt it’ll be an interesting upcoming issue.
