Country Style magazine are holding a short story competition based on the theme of ‘chance’.
It seems to be open to any genre just as long as the story (which is to be 1500 words or less) is “referencing directly or obliquely, the idea of ‘chance'”.
Our international friends are a bit left out of this one (sorry guys), but us Aussies and our mates across the pond in NZ are safe. Submit away!
Entries of the competition will be judged by Country Style editor Victoria Carey, writer Cate Kennedy and an Allen & Unwin representative. If that’s not cool, having your work read by the likes of Cate Kennedy, I don’t know what is.
And then to make it a little sweeter, the winner gets published in Country Style and receives $5000.
To read more about the submission details (there are a few formatting guidelines to know about) and more about the competition, check out this page.
So take a chance (sorry, it had to be said) and submit.
